Red Elk Images is Native American-owned small business operating on the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) in northeast Oregon. It is a home-based business located in Thornhollow, Oregon. Red Elk Images offers a variety of photographic services such as an outdoor, wedding, sporting events, senior portraits, pow wows, and family or group functions.

The owner, Dallas Dick, has been doing photography for nearly 27 years. He started with a 35mm SLR camera in 1987 and transitioned to digital photograph in 2004. Dallas is largely a self-taught photographer who has attended workshops on such topics as developing 35mm negatives to prints and computer editing of digital photographs. This enables him to fix prints and digital photographs.

Dallas is a full-time permanent employee in the photograph department at Tamástslikt Cultural Institute. He works with historic photographs as well as contemporary. In addition, he works part-time photographer for Confederated Umatilla Journal – CTUIR’s monthly newspaper – as sports, events and outdoor scenery photographer.
